Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions of Use

By using this site, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

COLLECTION OF INFORMATION

Arizona law requires the Campaign to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol, sponsored by the Marijuana Policy Project (hereinafter referred to as the campaign) to disclose to the Arizona Secretary of State personal data about donors who have cumulatively given $50.00 or more. For individual donors, this data includes name, postal address, email address, occupation, and employer. The information you provide is used to fulfill this requirement. Arizona also requires the campaign to disclose its four largest “major funding sources” in advertisements. A natural person will not count as a major funding source, but a business or organization may qualify as one if it donates $10,000.00 or more. If the major funding source is an out-of-state organization, that will also have to be disclosed in any advertisements. Except as provided in this section, personal information submitted when donating to the campaign will not be shared with other groups.

HOW WE PROTECT YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

The campaign uses industry-standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption on all webpages where donations are submitted. To make donations, you must use an SSL-enabled browser. (Any current version of Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Safari will work.) This protects the confidentiality of your personal and credit card information while it is transmitted over the internet.

CREDIT CARD INFORMATION

Credit card numbers are not stored by the campaign. They are submitted directly to a secure third-party vendor for processing.

COOKIE/TRACKING TECHNOLOGY

The site may use cookie and tracking technology if you use the “Remember Me” function. The cookies are useful for gathering information such as browser type and operating system, tracking the number of visitors to the site, and understanding how visitors use the site.

COMMITMENT TO DATA SECURITY

Your personally identifiable information is kept secure. Only authorized employees and vendors (who have agreed to keep information secure and confidential) have access to this information. All emails and newsletters from this site allow you to opt out of further mailings.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICE PROVIDERS

From time to time, the campaign may work with third-party consultants or other service providers who may have access to personally identifiable information. In such cases, we will restrict their use of personally identifiable information in accordance with their assigned tasks and subject to the limitations of this privacy policy.

REFUND POLICY

A donation to the campaign is not refundable. The campaign may, in its discretion, issue a refund if the donation was made in error and the donor makes a written request within 48 hours of the donation.
